Public meetings must allow for public comment. Items not on the agenda but of general concern to a citizen can be commented on at the beginning of the meeting during the "Public Comment" period. Action items on the agenda also allow for public comment but comments must be specific to that item. To speak a speaker slip must be submitted prior to the start of the meeting to either the clerk of the board or the chair. “Public Comment” is generally for a maximum of three (3) minutes.
